Scavi tour in Rome - do you request time?
Can you ask for a particular time (such as "morning" or "afternoon"
or do you just request a certain date and they tell you what time to be there?
Has anyone emailed their c/c info with no problem or should it be faxed to be safe?
Thanks.

Hello Leslie
You can ask whatever you want. But they will give you whatever times they have available!
If you want an English-speaking tour, be sure to specify.
While I do not email my cc information, many here will do so. I guess it just depends how confident you are in your cc fraud prevention (just in case there is a problem). But having faxed the number in the past, I have had no problems.
I hope you enjoy the tour. It is really quite fascinating.
Happy travels!

I gave the dates I would be there.
I followed the format on the website so they got exactly the info they were looking for.
They gave me the time. I sent an email in March and heard back in May.
I went ahead and emailed the credit card number and didn't have any problems. They sent a receipt email in 24 hours. However I monitor my credit card statement and would notice activity quickly.
The tour was wonderful. Remember to bring your reservation printout to show the Swiss Guard so you can enter the (left of St Peters) side entrance gate.

Hi Leslie_S,
I e-mailed my info and got a response back in about three days that it was received. I have not gotten my reservation yet, though. I am going to Italy in May and hope to get it before I go. They want to know the dates you will be in Rome and I think you are assigned a tour based on what openings they have. The vatican limits the number of people into the scavi. Good luck!

I'm not going until next May, 2009, so I'm sure it's too soon to request a reservation now. Just planning way in advance because I'm so excited! I'll wait until next January maybe.
Sounds like a very interesting tour - even if just from an archeological standpoint and not religious. True?
Thanks to all for the replies.
