Scavi email not working

I have sent two emails requesting Scavi tours for December - one early last week and one early this week - and have heard nothing in response. No automated email, no regular responses, nothing routed to bulk mail. I used the address directly from the Vatican website.

Does anyone have any suggestions? This isn't make or break for this trip but I would like to find out why they aren't responding at all. It is my understanding that an automated email comes first and you get a second one only if they have room. I wish I got something.....

Eva

Could it be that most of Italy, and I presume the Vatican as well, is on vacation during these last weeks in August?

I was wondering the same thing - and thought I would try again in September.

I'm just surprised an automated didn't come through - although their email could be jammed up.

As far as I know, there are only two people working at the Scavi Office. I received my Scavi confirmation from the *home* e-mail address of one of them.

Give them a break!

You might want to search this forum for other Scavi experience-your wait is not uncommon and does not mean there is a problem that will prevent you going on this amazing tour.

Thanks for your quick responses.

Zerlina - I was not looking to push them - I thought it was just unusual, seeing that it has been nearly two weeks since my first email.

I will wait it out and if I do not hear from them I will try again in September when everyone (myself included) in back in the work frame of mind.

Dear Eva,
we sent in a request over 2 months ago and have not heard a word, automated or otherwise.

I sent in a request for December back in May. In July I called them and they told me they don't even start scheduing until September for December.

And - as they say on the Vatican Scavi page - they would hugely appreciate it if they didn't have to sift through several requests from the same person...
