Santorini with teens

We are taking the family(3 teens) to Oia this July and I am looking for recommendations on a hotel. Our priorities include a good swimming pool/lounge area, air conditioning, and a view of the caldera. I am also looking for Greek ambiance and a good taste of the local culture (perhaps a little difficult during high season!). I have narrowed down my choices to Esperas Villas, Strogili, Caldera Villas and Alexander's Boutique. Any impressions or feedback is appreciated.

www.ikies.com

my fav...

Atalos Villas pretty nice for more budget.

Main town is infested with hordes of cruise ship tourists

not the best place to stay for local culture in high season...

www.santorini.com other good options might check Tripadvisor

reviews prior to booking some fake most legit...

Happy Hunting,

I stayed at Strogili houses in 2008 and loved it. We stayed in a one bedroom cave house with a kitchenette that sleeps five max. It has a large balcony overlooking the caldera and a pool. The pool is shared with another property but both are only a few rooms so it's not like there are huge crowds.

It's really more of a room for rent than a hotel so don't expect a lot of hand holding, but a great bargain imho with a spectacular view. They do serve breakfast though, and will bring it to your balcony whatever time you want.

Esperas is a little better located since it's in the center of things but much pricier iirc. But the walk from Strogili into "town" (which means where the main walkway starts, Oia is super tiny) is only about 10 minutes, not far all.

PS - I used the word balcony but that isn't right. Terrace, patio - I don't know the Greek word, but you have a large outdoor area with a breakfast table and the best view you will ever see in your life.
