Oia,Santorini- Hotels

Can anyone recommend a moderately priced charming hotel with a pool and room service, with a view of the veranda that offers a poolside menu as well as cocktails? This our 1st time going to Greece and would appreciate any helpful advice.

TIA

Santorini, The village of Oia is Beautiful. the hotel is called Oia Mare Villas and they have a website and is located on the sunset side of the cliffs with a nice pool. Oia is quite and the small city of Fira is where the disco's are located. Food, Ambrosia, Oia Cafe are owned by friends of mine Tony and Panos and 1800 is fine dining. Stay away from a jewelry store named ORO because they sell fake greek coins and have bad quality stones. the owners name is Alex and don't trust him.
I go every summer to the islands and please fell free to ask me anything.

We just got back from Santorini and stayed at a great hotel calles Canaves. It was wonderful! If you go stay at Canaves II, it is the newly built section. Canaves I didn't look nearly as nice. Canaves II has a great pool overlooking the Caldera and very friendly pool side staff where you can eat breakfast, lunch or just enjoy a cocktail. Each room has a balcony with a great view where you can have your breakfast each morning or where you can sit out in the evening. Very romantic and it a great location.

It is situation right next door the Katikies Hotel which also looks amazing.

We just got back from a week in Oia. We stayed at Esperas(www.esperas.gr). I would recommend it without reservation. It is at the far end of Oia so it feels more remote than the hotels in the middle of Oia. You will have a perfect view of the sunset. It is a homey place, the staff is very pleasant and helpful. We have been dreaming about going back already!

I agree with the comment about ORO! What a racket!

We went in June, would highly recommend Volcano Villas (not Volcano View Villas, different place and is in Fira).

HUGE apt., we were a couple but ideal place for 4 persons -- had 1 dbl bed downstairs and 2 single beds upstairs -- nice kitchen with hot plate, mini-fridge, dishes, utensils, dish liquid. Nice pool, poolside service, price VERY reasonable in comparison, family-run place, we enjoyed it, less than 10 min. flat walk to Oia center, nice restaurant across the way called "Santorini Mou" w/ live music and lively atmosphere -- we paid 75 Euros per night.

Have fun!
