Santorini - Chania ferries??

I am trying to get from Santorini to Chania and I am wondering if there is a ferry that connects the two. We will be traveling in mid-September. Any ideas? All that I can find on-line are ferries to Heraklion. Does anyone know how far it is from Heraklion to Chania?

No sure about the ferry. Do you have a place to stay in Santorini? We stayed at the Andromeda Villas. Beautiful place with beautiful view, and great service. There isn't really much to do in Santorini except try out all the different beaches. Have fun!

It seems to me the driving distance between Heraklion and Chania is something like 2-1/2 to 3 hours. Sorry, I don't recall exactly.

When I went by ferry from Santorini to Crete a few years ago you had to go via Heraklion. Chania was not an option. This may have changed or they may add ferries in high season. Mid Sept. of course is not high season. We got in late to Heraklion and grabbed a hotel near the port and left on the bus for Hania the next morning. I think it took the morning to get there as it stops in Rethmython for a bit. You could check the Greek ferry websites for this years schedules.

It takes 2 hours to drive between the 2. You COULD do it faster but not much. It's quite a nice drive and there are nice places to break it.

I'm fairly sure there are no ferries from Santorini to Chania. There are buses every half hour or so from Iraklion to Chania which take two or three hours.
