Santiago de compostela
We try to reserve an hotel in city center for 1 nignt in next september,I've tried to San clemente and another 2 stars hotel but they are no disponibility for the date we will be there. Ihave another hotel but it is a 1 star Hotel Avenida. Is someone know this hotel? Or is there others hotels (Price 50-70 euros for double) in city center?

Have you tried Casa As Artes, right in the center, within steps of the cathedral?
www.asartes.com
but doubles go for 86 from June-Sept. 30
Also the Hogar San Francisco, steps from the cathedral square, which should be within your 50-70 budget:
Tel: 981-57-24-63
Fax: 981-57-19-16

Another idea,
The Hotel Real; it's a Frommers "find" and is within your price range-you can reserve online.

Hi MarieFrance,
this one is a long shot (it is a really tiny, tiny place), but very well located and really lovely. It's around the corner from the Rua do Franco, merely five minutes walking from the Cathedral and very near to the main parking place.
Hotel 25 de Julio

If not, try the Virxe da Cerca. It is a three stars place near the market, also quite nice. It might be more expensive, but you might have more luck in your search.

Maribel: I haven't checked lately but I really doubt that Hostal Hogar San Francisco will be within MarieFrance's price range. But if she wants to live it up for her 1-night stay I recommend the Cotolay Room at HHSF. I've stayed at the Parador and I liked the Cotolay room better. 2004 is a Jubilee Year for Santiago, so things may be pretty tight.

Hi NED,
Thanks for the tip on the HHSF Cotolay room; I shall add it to my file of budget choices there. I was assuming Marie France was looking for Sept. '03 lodging rather than Sept of next yr's Xacobeo. You're absolutely right-It will indeed be tight for next summer in Santiago.
