I just read on these boards that there are some fabric shops at the foot of the Sacre Cour area. Is this coming from the Anvers metro or the Abbesses metro?

Anvers. You can't miss them if you look down the first street you'll cross as you walk toward Sacre Coeur from the Metro stop.

Marilayne, there are so many fabric stores in this area you will be on sensory overload. Outside of Provence it is one of the best places to purchase provencal fabrics. I bought some wonderful treated provencal fabrics that are used for outdoor dining and an upholstery toile fabric that is greater than 3 meters wide. The variety of fabrics available is fantastic. I think it's better than a trip to the Garment District in NYC. Hope you enjoy as well, Deborah

Get off at the Anvers Metro stop and walk north on rue de Steinkerque toward Sacre Coeur. It's very crowded, tons of locals and tourists. The street is covered with fabric shops that spill out onto the street. You can't possibly miss them.
