Ryan Air, Treviso to Rome.
We will be in Venice in June. We want to fly to Rome from Treviso. Ryan Air is 10 Euros!!! But first we have to get to Treviso. How much will that cost, and how hard will it be to make that connection from Venice to Treviso. We are not young, and cannot take too much wear and tear, being that we will be dragging our luggage, so please discuss the van or taxi option.

Twopeaa, unless you specifically want to end up at Ciampino airport near Rome, I wouldn't advise this. It's easiest to take the approximately 5-hour train trip between Venice and Rome. Once you add up the transit costs getting to and from airports, you're unlikely to save much time or money, if any. You say you aren't young, so I'd advise against this Ryanair option (although I heartily recommend it in many instances).
I'd also doubt those are really 10 Euro tickets. They're probably 10 Euros plus tax plus a fee for using a credit card - I'd guess somewhere around 35-40 Euros.
But if you do have a reason for wanting to fly, here's a link that may help:

twopeaa, I am so glad to see WillTravel's comments because I wanted to say what she said but I didn't as sometimes people ask a question and than get all kinds of answers that are different than what their question is.
But for the record, I sure agree with WillTravel, and she has travelled around Europe so much. I too would take the train from the Santa Lucia Train Station in Venice to Rome. Stresswise, moneywise, timewise I think you would be so much happier that you travelled by train. Have a lovely time in Italy!!

The fast train takes 4 h 33 minutes and cost me (earlier this month) 29 euros.
I made an advance booking of a non-refundable Trenitalia ticket on their website -- all Eurostar tickets for any Italy destination are 29 euros until the discount tickets are sold out, then the price moves to 39 euros, then you go to full fare. The full fare is about 44 euros.
I had seat selection and got an electronic ticket, which I printed. Just to be on the safe side we went into the ticket office and exchanged this for a conventional paper ticket --though the website told us this was not really required.
RE availability: there was no problem; on this mid-week train Rome to Venice there was 1 full 2nd class carriage and 5 empty ones when we departed. Eventually we went into an empty carriage and spread out luxuriously until our arrival.
NO airplane would have been so comfortable and no check in so convenient.
And I bet anyone who took a bus then RyanAir arrived later than I did and paid more overall...

WOW...I'm so a glad I asked. I posted the message, and went to bed. Now, at breakfast, I have all this good advice. I can't believe it. And you, three, agree. So now on to the next step, if you can go deeper. Santa Lucia train station...is that the big train station that I see from the vaporetto? THE train stationin Venice? I have read a few threads that say they have had trouble using their USA based credit cards the on Trenitalia website? Does that make sense? Do you recommend that I just go ahead and book on the website now?
When I get this settled my next issue will be a hotel room in Rome for one pleasant night before going to Civitavecchia (by taxi or train) to board a cruise.
