Look for the posts by GAC. In particular, look at the posts about special-price train tickets. But if you don't get a special-price ticket. the train fare will likely be in the vicinity of 45-50 Euros. Go to http://www.trenitalia.it to check.

Vic - The cheapest at present is the € 15.00 special offer under the 'Sabato di Trenitalia' offer ... if you travel on a Saturday.
Otherwise it's currently € 29.00 on ES trains any day until 30/4/05.
Both offers must be booked online at
www.trenitalia.com
Hope this helps ...

With the Trenitalia "Liberta' di Viaggiare" promotional fare, you can travel ANY DAY OF THE WEEK between Venice and Rome for 15 Euros, in first class, but ONLY on the Intercity (IC) train, NOT the Eurostar Italia (ES), which is faster. Nevertheless, the IC takes only about 1 hr. 17 minutes longer than the ES, and is very comfortable in first class.
