Rooms at Residenza Canali, Rome

After reading many posts about the Canali I am looking into this hotel and I would like a room with a terrace. I understand that there is a superior double with terrace, and a junior suite with a larger terace. Both on the fourth floor.
The difference in cost is about 26 euro per night.
Has anyone stayed in either room? And can you give me your opinion of each? Any other info on the hotel would be appreciated, also. Thanks!

We stayed there last February, but we didn't stay in a room with a terrace. We loved the hotel and would definitely stay there again! The location is perfect -- just around the corner from the Piazza Navona.

The rooms were clean, and the bathrooms were very modern and clean. The staff were really nice, also.

We used their driver service to get there, and I think that was a good idea, because it's very hard to find.

Also, be aware that it doesn't have elevators.

My husband and I stayed at Residenza Canali in October 2006 and found it perfectly charming (though expensive) but warn you that there is no lift and if the rooms with terraces are on the 4th floor, then 26 euros extra per night is a lot to pay for all that climbing. (Be aware that in Europe the 1st floor is the one ABOVE the ground floor, so their 4th floor is our 5th floor.)

That being said , the hotel is well located, the breakfast is very good and served in a very pretty room, and our room was very nice with all amenities. BUT we had a devil of a time finding the place! Ask for explicit instructions.

We stayed at the Residenza Canali about a year ago, and we stayed in the superior double room with a terrace. We very much liked the Residenza; the front-desk people were helpful and kind; it was clean and in a GREAT location!

The room wasn't large, though bigger than usual, but the presence of the terrace made it seem larger. We found, however, that we didn't really use the terrace. We much preferred sitting in the nearby Piazza Navona at a cafe, with a glass of wine, and people-watching.

Enjoy!

We stayed in the superior room with terrace in June of 2006. It is a great location and we loved the hotel. Having a terrace made all the difference as after a long hot day it was pleasant to be able yo sit out and have some wine and cheese before dinner. Our room was at the top of the stairs, to the right. Did not see the other room on that floor so cannot compare.

Thanks so much!
I will try to reserve the junior suite (hubby wants more space), but if not available--will take the superior double. We've stayes at the Del Senato before and loved the location, but the price is getting so outrageous! (E340) So we'll try the Canali this time. You've all made it sound so nice--can't wait! Any nearby restaurant reccomendations appreciated.--- K.
