will give you freedom and flexibility the whole week.
Drive scenic no bad if you take your time and stay
out of downtown Naples eurocheapo.com/naples super scary
drivers there. Train cheapest sea61.com regionals to Naples
and Circumvesuviana to Sorrento under 15 euro per person for my wife and myself last May then 2 euro on the SITA bus to Positano. Not as comfy but not bad and super cheap. Private
xfer if money is no object.

www.seat61.com/italy fast train is 40 euro 1 hour or so
but 160 euro RT you have almost paid for a car for the whole week. So rental best for us staying out of downtown Naples the coast road is windy scenic best done in early AMs to avoid crowds but we enjoyed it.
