Rome hotel choices
Booking a trip to Rome for June 06. (got the Frequent flyer seats-yea!)
Since I am booking so early, I can get into nearly any hotel I want. I've gotten a lot of quotes so far. I need to get 2 rooms, as I have 3 teenagers - one 19 year old and two 16 year olds. I'm torn as to what area I want to stay in. One of my concerns is being able to let the teens out a bit by themselves at night after dinner--(ie hang out a bit in the Piazza Navona or the Spanish Steps), so I am concerned about safety and letting them walk back to hotel alone.
Here are my choices so far and the price quoted for the 2 rooms.
Hotel Ponte Sisto--Euro 515 (looks beautiful, great price for this, but too far out of the way--safe?)
Albergo Del Senato-Euro 590 (ouch!)
Albergo Cesari Euro 565
Santa Chiara Euro 515
San Carlo Euro 450.
I am waiting to hear from Canali ai Coronari, as well as 2 suites at the Internazionale Domus overlooking the Spanish Steps.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

We'll be staying at Residenza Canali ai Coronari for a week in October. Among other things,we chose it because of the location. I assume they informed you of the savings you get if you pay in euro rather than charging it....something over a 10% savings.
(PS: I assume you mean you are going in June 2007!)

The Albergo del Senato is in a wonderful location, right on one of my favorite piazzas facing the Pantheon. It is also very close to Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, and a very safe short walk to the Spanish Steps. There will be lots of places for them to hang out.

Howard--
yes thanks 2007 Duh!
Kanga Mom--yes, everyone seems to love the location of the DelSenato. I was trying to keep around 500 euro, or not much more. They are the most expensive, so I have to decide if they are worth the splurge.
