Rome hotel 2 days
Hi,
We will be in Sicily for a wedding in January. We being myself, DH and 2 daughters 12 and 9. We will be back in Rome Friday late afternoon and leave for home Monday morning - so we really only have Saturday and Sunday in Rome.
Any suggestions for a hotel within walking distance of things to do. Obviously we just want the flavor of Rome since our time is so limited - I just want to be able to walk out and see and do. We're very comfortable using public transportation so that's not the issue. Sure, we want to see the Colisseum, etc but time is not on our side.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciaed!!
Jeannine

Stay at the Albergo Cesari: www.albergocesari.it
It is charming and walking distance to the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, countless restaurants and gelato stands! It's perfect for your brief trip to Rome (also, 30 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride up the Via del Corso) to the colisseum! Enjoy!

We stayed at the Hotel Ponte Sisto a couple of years ago when we were in Rome and it was very nice and close to all the attractions. If you want to splurge stay at the Excelsior. We used SPG points there about 6 years ago and it was amazing, but very expensive if you don't have points to pay for it.

Everyone has different areas of Rome that are their favorites, but I would suggest you look at hotels in the Campo Dei Fiori, Pantheon (that's where the Cesari is) and Piazza Navona area. If you stay in that area, you are walking distance to so much.
