Look at the Grand Hotel de la Minerve for a location close to the Pantheon and a civilized rooftop bar and restaurant.

I have stayed a number of times at Grand Hotel de la Minerve and it is a very good hotel. However, the area has become very, very busy so we prefer the location of the Sofitel these days to get away from it all. We always stop in for drinks when in Rome whether on the roof or in the lobby bar.

Thanks again to everyone for the great suggestions! I'm a little distracted since our daughter is getting married a week from Saturday. Seems all I've been doing is making decisions, so I am thankful for the help you have given me to make this one! But still undecided!!!
