No, I wasn't annoyed, was just curious why it came up.

Actually one of the few things that annoy me are obnoxious creeps who come and register at Fodor's just to pop in and out of threads making rude and obnoxious comments. Sound familiar eldon?

Yawn...

Oh, how right you are P., it sounds familiar.

"obnoxious creeps who come and register at Fodor's just to pop in and out of threads making rude and obnoxious comments."

Yikes! Hmmmm....it reminds me of you!

I agree Eldon...As far as I'm concerned, Patrick is purely here to be argumentative, if not an outright troll.

James, put a 1 in front of your 30/night request, and you're in the neighborhood for a budget hotel in Rome. In a trip across Europe from London to Istanbul, the least expensive, 1 star B&B near the Trevi Fountain was $90 Euro, and I had to dig for it. I wouldn't recommend it, or I'd tell you where it was. I will pony up $200/night for Rome, should I ever return.

Happy Travels,

Jules

This is really too silly to comment on but I will anyway. Click on my name and run through the last couple of hundred posts or so I've done. You will find the vast majority of them to be offering full fledged assistance to a myriad of questions. Scattered among them will be some rude responses -- and here is the important part -- to other posters who were being rude. Now click on eldon's name and see how valuable his posts have been. Granted he has actually made a grand total of two legitimate posts, but he mainly is here just to "pop in" and make rude comments that have nothing to do with anything being said.

Now jules, you give good and informative posts. I misunderstood your post about obestity and driving SUVs, and I attempted to apologize several times for my misunderstanding, but that's no reason to now "turn on me" and say such outrageously silly things as "As far as I'm concerned, Patrick is purely here to be argumentative, if not an outright troll.' Life is too short to bear grudges. If I disagree with you in the future I'll probably say so, but I assure you I won't hold a grudge against you for saying something so silly as this. Why hold a grudge against me? There is no reason to act like 7th graders.

You're spot on, jules! I read your SUV post and found nothing to argue with you about unlike P. here although he's saying the opposite now. Your advice is always appreciated, so kind and without criticism! You gotta wonder why there are some here who just have to make their presence known by being so rude. Yes rude! Unfortunately they can't see that in themselves and hate to have it pointed out.

OK, then again, some of us prefer acting like 7th graders apparently.

Oy! I do agree with you on one thing and that is you're acting like a 7th grader, Patrick.

I have been where you are looking for a room for $30 a day but I couldn't find it. Either have to look into a hostel near Termini or maybe go to craigslist.org and see furnished rooms for rent in Rome. If you are staying for a week or more, you might be able to get something for like 30-35 euro a night...sorry
