Rome hotel
Hello,
Can anyone suggest a good hotel in Rome - early October ? We will be there for three days. It's so confusing trying to figure out the best location .
Right now the only thing we have on the agenda is the Vatican and 'the Ancient Rome ' tour .
Thank you in advance for any guidance and input .

Check with tripadvisor.com or trivago.com. Booking.com and hotel.com are also good sources for location and quality. We've used all of them many times and have never been disappointed. All except Tripadvisor use client based reviews based on clients' reviews after people have stayed there.
Staying near Piazza Navona would be a good location if you plan on spending the majority of your time near the Vatican.
For the past 6 or 7 years we've been staying in a very upscale b&b across the street from the Roma Opera House called Armonio All Opera. It is in the Esqualino section in Roma about a 10-15 minute walk from Stazione Termini. The neighborhood is very calm and quiet with an abundance of restaurants and very close to the Piazza Repubblica Metro stop.
Buon viaggio,

I did a lot of research on places and found Il Palazzetto Roma it is located at the top of the Spanish Steps. I am staying there 5 nights in September. It was $260 EUR during the week and $320 Eur on the weekend when I booked it in October 2016. It was rated as #1 boutique hotel in Rome. It only has 4 rooms but you get all the amenties of Hotel Hassler. I booked a room with Spanish Steps View. It includes the Wine Bar II Palazzetto located on the 4th and 5th floors with panoramic terraces with view of the Spanish Steps.

Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions . I am looking at each one . The area around the Pantheon looks really good - seems to be easy walking distance from many sites - for an evening stroll.
