Rome Golf Cart Tours

Has anyone done Rome by golf cart? I will have 6 adults and 4 children in Rome. This seems like a fun way to get an overview of Rome. I'd love to know of a specific company that someone has used. I know we will have to break up into 2 golf carts. I'm also looking for a private guide that is especially good with children 5,8,10,12 Thanks

I’ll be able to give you a review in a couple weeks! We have reserved the full day (with lunch) golf cart tour for later this month with Driver Guide Service. Some family friends used them before covid and were very happy with their tour. My sister thought it sounded like a great way to get an overview of Rome so I booked it. My husband and I have been to Rome many times but it will be my sisters and BIL first trip to Italy so we are focusing on things they will enjoy. There are 6 of us so we fit in one cart.

I can't wait to hear how it went. Please let me know anything else you recommend. This is my 6tth time to Rome, but my son in-law & daughter in-law's first time and of course the grandchildren's first time.
Thanks!!!

Hi dtp, I wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our golf cart tour of Rome with Driver’s Guide Service. We were fortunate to have the owner, Ivano, lead our group of 6. It was a fun day, beginning at 9 with a pickup at our hotel. He drove us through the historical center, offering commentary and stopping at several places that we would not have gone on our own as well as large sites like the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona.

We opted for the full day tour with lunch in a private home which was a lot of fun and a very good meal, too! After lunch, we continued our tour seeing the outside of the Colosseum, the Forum, Circus Maximus, etc before being returned to our hotel about 4:30. Ivano was a wonderful guide and was very open to what we wanted to see and where we wanted to go. Since we had scheduled an underground tour of the Colosseum for the next day, we opted not to get out there but rather do a drive-by. He is a lifelong Roman and very knowledgeable.

We had 6 people in our group and the max he can take in one cart is 7, so you will need to get two carts for your party. My husband and I have been to Rome many times but have never done a tour like this. The tour was my sister’s idea and worked especially well as my BIL is scheduled for knee surgery a week after we return home. They were able to see so much with no effort. It was super fun to be (literally) carted around from place to place. I’m used to walking a lot on trips to Europe, but have to admit this tour was the perfect way to give an overview to my sisters and BIL!

Highly, highly recommend this company; with luck you might get Ivano and his adorable son who also gives tours. http://www.driverguideservice.com/

Gracile, thanks for posting. Initially, I did not like the idea, but with age comes reality. It would be great for DH and me and elderly friends.
