Rome
I'm going to be in Rome on a Sunday in September of 2007, the Vatican etc is not available for touring.
I'm coming in on a Princess Cruise and would like to know if there is transportation available at the port to the city itself (bus to the city or whatever) so that I can do Rome on my own. I'll be there for approximately 10 hours.
Thanks!

Is the ship docking at Civitaveccia? If so, the regional train FR-5 goes from Civitavecchia to Rome Termini station. The "Regular" trains are pretty frequent and take about an hour to get to Termini station. (There is a Eurostar Train also) The low cost option is to buy a 1 day BIRG Regional Ticket good for 5 zones which costs 9 euros. This will cover the FR5 train ride into Rome and back to Civitavecchia (but not the Eurostar) and also covers the the city busses, metro and the trams in Rome until midnight of the day you use the ticket.

You could try a pick up service like:
http://www.romashuttle.com/
Most limo services offer service to the port.
