castle combe would meet your specificationsm; the manor house is very nice. other possibilities: weston manor, weston-on-the-green hotel is old and lovely. we also liked pennyhill park in bagshot; great fosters in egham (not far from heathrow); the cottage in the wood, malvern wells; ston easton park, near bath; and cheddington court in cheddington, near dorset.
