Has anyone rented a scooter on the Riviera? Is it safe, or is there too much traffic (particularly for our 17 and 19 year-olds?). We've done this before in Viareggio, but I think there's a lot less traffic there, plus we had 2-person scooters. Now they each want their own!

I don't know the answer, but at least two countries are often said to have a "Riviera" (maybe even more) - - getting an answer might come more readily if you specify more clearly where you mean.

Best wishes,

Rex

Good point
- I meant the French Riviera. We'll be staying in the Antibes area.

I think the minimum driving age in France is 18 years of age.

Even for experienced drivers(scooter or otherwise) this area is challenging to drive. The most aggressive drivers, in fact, were those on 2 wheeled vehicles.
