That is a low price for typical vacation rentals, so I think it might work better if you went through some French portals, do you know French? like maybe vacances.seloger.com or www.papvacances.fr

I think so, unless you just want a basic closet. That Pebbles agency looks nice but those are luxury places, I think the cheapest is about $2500 a month.
Airbnb is a good idea, so many people use that, they have about 6 around $900 or less a month in Nice, which are kind of depressing, but are there. One was 10 m2, which is smaller than many simple hotel rooms I've had.
