Monaco Car rental - age restriction?

Hi all (and hopefully you St. Cirq), we will be spending a day this September in Monaco; planning to rent a car to get to St. Paul de Vence, back thru Nice & Eze before returning to the port. Now, we know France has no age restriction as to "senior" drivers, but my husband has crossed to even yet another strata having turned 75. He is in fine shape and drives standard transm well (as do I, who is much younger -- LOL). Can find no data as to Monaco restrictions. I guess we could throw in another application for Int'l Permit as we did for France 3 years ago, or call Avis, but it's more fun hearing all your good advice.

The online rental sites ask for the driver's age. I presume that there is a reason for this.

99.9% of the regulations in Monaco are aligned with French law. (I am inventing that percentage but I am relatively confident that it is correct.)

I would think the car companies could tell you, furthermore, it may vary from company to company. I think online they usually just ask if you are over a certain age, they don't ask for a specific age if you say yes.

Avis Monaco says:
<<Are there any maximum age restrictions?
No, so long as you hold a full, valid driving license for at least 1 year...

Sixt has no max age limits there, either.

IME it does vary from agency to agency. The last time my father drove in France, at age 80, we had to ask at least a couple of agencies before we found one that would allow him to drive at that age. That was, however, more than a decade ago and I have no more recent experience.

knollw: Renault Eurodrive really doesn't help the OP - they need a car for one day and the minimum rental period for the Renault short term lease is 17 days.
