Rhodes old city or new city?

We are staying 2 nights in Rhodes. We are trying to decide the best location. We will be there this June.

I'd say it depends -- depends on what interests you. The Old Town is a walled city with some restaurants, shops, etc. I enjoyed spending a couple of nights here. I also stayed in the New City section and found it unattractive, noisy, and not my cup of tea. If you're looking for night life, you might enjoy the New City. Must mention that it has been over ten years since I was there.

I stayed in the new town. It wasn't bad, but the old town has a lot more charm. In either case, they are within walking distance of each other, but if I had it to do again, I would go for the old town.

We stayed in the Old Town at the delightful little Hotel S. Nikolis. Loved it, and when we walked around the new city, we were especially glad we were in the Old City!

S. Nikolis is where I stayed, too! I recommend it.

I don't think there are any really americanized hotels in Old Town, but we stayed in a pension and loved it. Old Town is a very unique experience, whereas the new city is "just a city". Otherewise there are resorts and towns with hotels all up the island on both sides. Lindos is a lovely area. We stayed in a resort not too far from Rhodes Town in Ialloyossos beach (sp?). It was very nice but the beach is rocky, not sand. Rhodes is beautiful, enjoy!
