Review: Donati apartment in Florence
There seems to be a fiar number of inquiries about apartments in Florence, so maybe this post will help some people.
Through the website sleepinginflorence.com, we rented a 3-bedroom apt. at 63 Via Della Pergola for a week in Florence. Here's the deal:
Cost: 1350 euros plus 100-euro cleaning fee. That seemed to be a good value if you look at the cost of 2 or 3 rooms at a decent, well located hotel in Florence. I looked at several hotel possibilites, and the totals usually amounted to abo

(sorry, hit the wrong key)
about 500 euros/night for some combination of 2-3 rooms.
Location: Via Della Pergola is in an excellent location that's within walking distance of just about every major site -- Ponte Vecchio, the river, Accademia, Ufizzi, train station, Santa Croce, etc. If you stay there, you just about eliminate the need for taxis. We used a taxi once, to get to the train station with our baggage. And we figured out the bus system to get to Piazzale Michelangelo across the river.
Noise: I mention this because it's an issue when you stay in the city. The street is narrow but a bit busy, so you get a fair share of cars, scooters and sirens. It's mainy residential so there are no bars or clubs. While we were there, they were renovating the rest of the building, so the workers were a little noisy during the day, but they always seemed to hold off using power tools or banging until after about 9 am, so that wasn't much of an issue for us. Anyway, they'll probably be done soon, so it's not really an issue overall.
Quality and value: The short story is that we liked it and we'd stay there again.
We were in a 3-bedroom unit that had two full baths and a half bath. We controlled the heat, which worked fine. Can't speak about the a/c because we didn't use it.
The small kitchen had new apppliances (but no microwave, if that's important for you) and was modestly equipped. Generally met our needs, which mainly consisted of breakfast and a small meal here and there.
Living room off kitchen had some less-than-new but serviceable furniture -- couch, two chairs -- and a TV that got a million channels but very few in English (also not much of an issue for us).
Bedrooms: 2 downstairs each with a double bed, and 1 in an upstairs loft with 2 single beds. Oddly the upstairs loft had its own bathroom, with a tub and a handheld shower, so it seemed to us that it would have made a good master suite. The renovators didn't see it that way. Neither of the downstairs bedrooms had its its own ensuite bathroom.
Baths: Newly renovated, in a European style, meaning they were small but OK. (You have to laugh about how small the bathrooms are in Europe, but how they still manage to squeeze in a bidet.) The one and only shower was a stall with a curtain. The one tub was upstairs.
Balcony, terrace: Off the living room, cozy, overlooking the back courtyard of the building.
Hope that helps. I'll check back periodically in case anyone has questions.

If you're booking the Donati, forgot to mention about the washer and dryer. There was one washing machine in the building, and as part of the renovations, they were installing another washer and a dryer. That's a great convenience when you're trying to pack light.

Hi i_999_9 your post is so detailed about the apartment you rented..how nice for those that are going to Florence with family members.
If I needed an apartment that size you sure have sold me on it, silly bathroom arrangements or not!!
