restaurants near gare de lyon

We are traveling by train from Dijon to Paris, then on to Reims. I did 2 separate prem tickets so that I can have 2 hours in Paris for a nice lunch. We will have some luggage for our 2 week trip. Please give us some suggestions on good restaurant around there before we take a taxi to gare de l'est. Budget around 20 euro per person excluding drinks. A place that will let us drag in our bags. Thank you.

If you can afford it the restaurant at the train station is pricey but nice, you will find many comments about Le Train Bleu doing a search.

Last August we stayed near the Lyon train station and found some ok Brasseries right in front of the station but nothing I would willing drag luggage from the station to patronize. Deborah

I would first go to the Gare de l'Est and then find a restaurant. It's safer in terms of your time constraint.

Georgiegirl, If you want to get out of the station two Restaurants we went to were near each other, right across from the main entrance to the train station, which is a bit of a hike

Restaurant Cadran du PLM is on Blvd Diderot. I was there alone and had a salad, wine and cafe for 19 euros.

Another is Brasserie L'Europeen at 2 rue de Lyon, my husband and I were there for dinner and had two prix fixe menus which included wine and cafe for 64 euros, total bill

Saw plenty of luggage around the tables so I know you wouldn't have a problem with yours. Food was ok, nothing remarkable

Thank you for fast responses. I looked at the web site (thank you robjame). I saw menu TGV for 48 euro. I will keep it in mind since they show 45 minute promise.
Or should I go on to gare de l'est and look for food there? Any rec.? Thanks.

georgiegirl, if you decide to have lunch in the Gare de Lyon area you might consider Le Duc de Richelieu at 5 rue Parrot. It's about a block from the station, which I'd consider to be within luggage-dragging distance.

It's a lively and hospitable place with good food. Here's a description on a French website:

Ooops ... I meant to mention that you will be able to have lunch there for less than €20 per person.

A Flo Brasserie is currently being created in Gare de l'Est. I don't know when it will open.

Just like every other major Paris train station, there are some excellent (and elegant) brasseries right across from the station.

Thank you. I checked TA since its search function is better. There are several comments about restaurants near gare du nord and gare de l'est: Chez Michel, La Grille, Terminus Nord. Another problem I have is that I will get in at about 1pm and leave from another station at about 4pm. I might miss the closing time of 2pm on some restaurants.

I highly recommend Chez Michel. Just ate there last week. However, you must have reservations and it might be more than your budget.

The "train station" brasseries do not have a closing time for meals, due to the nature of their location. They were the first places to serve meals at all hours.
