restaurant reviews

Has anyone else found it frustrating when you have found a great restaurant and want to write a review, only to find that you can't as Fodors have not included it? Is there a way around this?

Hi
No, as far as I know, Fodors's restaurant listings don't accept write-in candidates. You can review it right here and include the city name in your review, so that someone later searching on "London restaurant" or wherever, should be able to find it. In addition, tripadvisor.com accepts restaurant reviews I think.

Same problem with hotels. That's why this forum is so much more useful than the rants & raves.

Wouldn't it be great though if Fodors were to start a new forum specifically for restaurant reviews(and also one for hotels)

I agree with a seperate forum- you can "lose" reviews quickly in the ordinary forums.

I think it would be easier if they could just add the feature to the Rants and Raves that allows readers to post new hotels and restaurants. It would be much easier to access for a specific city than going to a whole new forum.

good suggestion. I wish fodors would use it- after all it would surely help them- let someone else do the reviews and keep fodors informed as to the "in" places to use in their guides.

While we're making our wish list, wouldn't it be great if when you went to the Fodor's listings, you could also get the website and/or email address of the hotel?

Godfrey26: Thank you for the restaurant information and references to the towns of Pontone and Scala. My wife and I are searching for a villa, farmhouse or apartment to rent on the Amalfi coast for Oct '04 . We'll check out those towns.

Godfrey26, did you hear about San Giovanni through Vincenzo? He rec'd that place to me for my visit to Ravello. Unfortunately, there was rain on the day we planned to go there so we settled for the nearby Cumpa Cosima. Sounds like I missed a gem of a place!

Anyone else miss Vincenzo and his excellent recommendations for the Amalfi Coast?

fiona, you could always email your comments to Fordors. Perhaps they will think the restaurant worthy of their visit.
