Residences-paris apartments anyone rented from him?
I think have found an apartment in Paris to rent, but hoping to find some feedback from anyone sho has rented from him before. www.residences-paris.com I am looking at the La residence d' Artagnan Apartment in the 6th. Owner quickly responds to email and takes a personal check as security deposit! Any feedback?

Yes, I checked slow travel before posting message, there is just nothing out there. This owner actually has about eight apartments he rents, so I am surprised no one from Fodors has ever used him. Ho Hum...

I guess eight isn't really that many. I looked at the website to see if it looked familiar and it's just this one young guy and a couple of his friends' apartments. I will give him credit that he seems to be doing a very professional job and has a good business sense. I especially like his guestbook where he has scanned the actual book's pages so you can see they were the original comments.
Good luck.
Good luck.

How are you going to handle having a hotel reservation as a backup? That hotel has a stiff cancellation fee, and you won't know what the apt. is like until you get there. You will pay to cancel at the Bonaparte at any time (16 euro or something like that) and I think if you don't cancel 3 days or more ahead of time, you have to pay one day's room rate.
YOu probably should have picked a different hotel for a backup, most don't charge those kind of cancellation fees.

Thanks for the information Christine, I had not decided on which hotel as backup. I do know Hotel Keppler and a few others I've stayed in only charge you for one night if canceled. I am sure I could fine some hotel on short notice, but I do not want to pay a fortune for it. I did mail off my deposit and signed contract last weekend.

I had a reservation with residences-paris.com.
We closed on a price and I was expecting the contract the day after.
The contract didn't come the day after, instead two days later I got an email with a "sorry, that unit isn't available any longer. I have a smaller unit with a pullout sofa instead of a bed I can give you for the same price”.
I wasn't offer a discount nor a proper explanation for this.
I wouldn't recommend dealing with this agency.
