Renfe train tickets

Hi, I went online and purchased tickets from renfe.es. Are these official tickets or do I need to bring this vouchers to the ticket stand? There doesn't seem to have any seat # on the tickets. Also I used my first and last name as Appelido1 and Appelido 2. Was I supposed to add name of second passenger as Appelido 2. I am anxious that I did not fill out information correctly online. After booking WEB and Estrella tickets, I really didn't save much money. Eurail pass may have been easier to book without guessing requested information on Renfe. Appreciate any input. Thank you. Anna

Which tickets did you purchase? The only place Renfe asks for a name (Spaniards have at least two last names) is when you fill out the "Purchasers Details". (There is an English language page if you don't speak Spanish).

All of the high-speed and long distance trains will have a seat (plaza) and coach numbers listed on the tickets as all seats are reserved.

Thank you Robert. I bought the Web or estrella fares. On the ticket I see in fine print the seat # at the very bottom. But my conirfmacion de Venta Renfe, it is clear on it. I will bring confirmacion and tickets I printed. Do I just board with these tickets or do I need to go to the ticket stand to get an official ticket. I'm glad to hear that the Spaniards have 2 last names. That's where I put my Last name and first name, when I purchased them. There are no names on the tickets. Also, I was able to use my credit all along except for Seville to Malaga. Do you think it will be a problem to buy the ticket at that time? I'm only concerned because it is the high season. Thank you for your response.

The printed tickets are official & valid, you do not need to exchange them for other tickets.

As long as the tickets have the localizer number and bar code, that's all you'll need to board the train. They scan the tickets at the gate. Be sure to take the whole ticket with you. The bar code is at the bottom of the ticket.

Renfe tickets do not include the passenger's name.

You should keep trying on the Seville-Malaga train. It's always best to purchase tickets ahead of time, otherwise the lines could be long and seats gone by the time you get to the head of the line.

Thanks for your reply. I must say that going on the Renfe site can be quite confusing. When I started reading comments on purchasing Renfe tickets instead of Eurail Pass because it's cheaper, I decided to give it a try. But in future, I would go through Eurail pass and avoid the hassle of not being to contact someone directly for help. Maribel Guides was very helpful and they told me how to retrieve my tickets. Thanks for your information. I didn't read it till now. Looking forward to my holiday. Anna
