Red Rose B& B
I just read some unfavorable reviews of the Red Rose B&B in Rome. They were written last year but I have made reservations at the Red Rose and now I am concerned. Should I be? My wife and I leave this Saturday June 17 for Rome.

Hi dhoffman. You don't need to post a new message each time you want to comment about your post. You can click on your username (in blue) to find your earlier message. Adding to that one by replying will bring it to the number one position on the left-hand side of the screen. Fodor's doesn't make that crystal clear.

I last stayed at the Red Rose B&B in 2003 (or was it the Blue Rose B&B? It was a "rose" B&B on Umberto). The hotel was fine, but I was not thrilled with the location because the neighborhood was a bit crummy. I wouldn't go into panic mode at this late date. It will be fine.

Holy cow, I reserved 3 nights at this place in Rome and I just looked at Trip Advisor and it got panned as not being customer friendly and not at all like its website. Any of you stay here or have a positive experience. I leave on Saturday June 17th.

Take TA recommendations with a grain of salt, there are people posting there who rate hotels and have never been to them..as well as restaurants.
Google the B&B and see what else you find in the way of reviews. Good luck
I am posting this again in case you miss it on your other post which asked the same thing. This way no one will miss the info. Also, I see the post before me said the B&B they stayed in was on Umberto. The Red Rose is off of Via Cavour on Via Giovanni Lanza which is about two or three city blocks walking distance from the Colisseum.
I have stayed there twice and have no complaints. It is not the fanciest place but for the money, we thought it was an excellent value and we recommend it often for value and price.
Our room was large and the environment was quiet...too huge pluses for us. While the bathroom ensuite was small, it was adequate and the accomodations comfortable.
On the negative side, the owner is not on site and sometimes you may have to wait for her to arrive. Also, she does not speak English. But with that said, we would stay there again.
