Hello,
A group of 5 adults will be traveling this summer to Italy. We would like recommendations on limousine or van service around Venice, Rome, Florence, and Naples. We will need them for both transportation and tours. Any recommendations?

For Naples, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, I can recommend a driver we've used quite a lot. He is Giovanni Gargiulo, and he can be reached at: tourofitaly.com. He's a lovely, charming, and reliable guide! Drives an air conditioned mini van or a mercedes station wagon.

For Florence and environs ( Chianti area) I can recommend the driver we used last summer. His name is Luca Garapa, and he can be reached at: Hillsandroads.com. Wonderful guide, very personable, and REASONABLE compared to other pricings I got for the same thing! He drives a new van.

Spanning how many days? I'll do it, in a nine passenger van (Opel Vivaro minibus), for $2800, going something like this:

Day 0 - - you depart from your continent of origin.
Day 1 - - you arrive Venice. I recommend that you ask your hotel to arrange a water taxi to meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel (100 euros, and worth ever penny of it)
Days 2 and 3 - - Venice on your own
Day 4 - - I meet you for the first time at noon; we tour areas in the Veneto area, as a day trip, returning to Venice by 8 pm.
Day 5 - - drive you from Venice to Florence
Day 6 - - tour with you through the Tuscany countryside, as a day trip from Florence
Day 7 - - Florence on your own
Day 8 - - Drive you from Florence to Rome
Days 9 and 10 - - Rome on your own
Day 11 - - Drive you from Rome to Naples
Day 12 - - tour with you, Amalfi/Sorrento or Pompeii/Caserta
Day 13 - - Naples on your own
Day 14 - - drive you to Naples airport for am departure.

Compressed to fewer than days 4-14: deduct $100 for one day less or $250 for two days less. Additional days (before day 14 or after day 14), add $300 per day.

No gratuity expected; no meals provided. I pay all fuel and tolls.

I second the recommedation for Luca Garapa. We used him to explore Umbria and Tuscany a few weeks ago and had a wonderful time.
