I have a question that is similar to one posted by Steven4ivy, but not quite. My wife and I will be spending two weeks in a timeshare on the Mijas Costa (not far from Fuengirola)in late April. We will be doing several day trips, but it's unlikely we'll do more than two of the three "must see" cities in Andalucia (Sevilla, Granada, and Cordoba). Which two would you recommend we visit (ranked one and two in case we get to only one). Any reasons for the one you left out?

O.K. I'm new to this. What does ttt mean?

I think you're really be missing a lot if you didn't see (1) the Alhambra and (2) the mosque in Cordoba.

And I mean a LOT.

KenSue: "ttt" means "to the top". If a post doesn't get answered, it drops down in the lastings and may not be seen by other posters. Any reply, including an empty one or something short like "ttt" brings it to the top.

New posters often make the mistake of reposting which confuses everybody because some repliers reply to the first post and others to the second.

The three cities are not to be missed if you are going to be for two weeks so near.... at least you can go for a day and visit their most important landmarks as it has been posted,
the Alambra in Granada ( you need to buy a ticket ahead , a reserved time for your visit of the Royal Palaces will be set) the rest can be visit at your leisure.
Last time I went to Granada I bought the tickets at the office of a bank in Madrid , now I do not how it is done but surely is easy to find out.
The Alcazares Reales in Seville are f ree for anyone over 65,,, and you can get the tickets on the spot.(7 eu).
The MEzquita in Cordoba you get the tickets on the spot too. (8 eu)
I am not for so short visits to a city but I guess they are better than not going at all.
If you go to Cordoba, may be you can have some tapas in Pepe de la Juderia or at el Caballo ROjo both very good and have a walk in the Juderia, in Seville the same, have some tapas in front of the
Cathedral at one of the places there and in Granada if you really wish to splurge have lunch at the Parador which is located right there inside the Alhambra or if you make reservations ahead early in the morning in the patio of the Hotel America also on the hill.
I cannot rank these three wonderful places to be visited I would certainly encourage you not to miss any of them, it will be a sin. Pecato as the Italians say.

KenSue, I have a suggestion: instead to stay 2 weeks in Mijas, stay there only one, and stay 2 days in Seville, 2 in Cordoba and 3 in Granada.

We made the same. We we staid in Torremolinos instead at Mijas, and we visited from then Ronda, the cave Nerja, Gibraltar, Tanger (Morroco).

With two weeks, I suggest seeing <b><i>all three</i></b> if at all possible.

Wow, thanks for the great advice. We're locked in to the two weeks in Mijas, but we're thinking of staying overnight in at least one of the three cities. Based on the comments we've received we'll probably visit all three. We try to spend as much time as possible visiting rural areas, and look forward to the &quot;white villages&quot; (Ronda for sure). We'll also try to visit Gibraltar, at least to take some photos.
