Raining in Lake Como - Please help!

My husband and I are staying in Lenno to wrap up our vacation. We went on a great hike yesterday. Today it rained. We went to Como and did a little shopping, but it was pretty cold and wet. Tomorrows forecast is for more rain! We've been in museums, churches, etc for the last few weeks. They were great, but we chose to end in Lake Como for something different. Any thoughts as to how to spend our last (rainy) day of vacation? Grazie!

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. We're thinking of going to Bellagio rain or shine. It's better than sitting in the hotel playing cards!

Maybe get off the computer and out of your room and see what you can find. WHy are you asking here is there no one in the hotel to ask?

Bethie, in that you posted 7:10pm Italian time, aren't you going out to a restaurant for wine and dinner?

And if you are worried about tomorrow, some of the most wonderful times I have had in Italy is when I have walked in the rain. Dress appropriately, take an umbrella and go discover where you are staying. Rain won't hurt you and you will get a feel for the Italy that a lot of tourists never experience. Stop by a cafe for a warm drink, a good cold weather luncheon and a good bottle of red wine. Experience the joy..and I would take rain any day over horrible heat and high humidity and shoulder to shoulder crowds. Best regards.

If all else fails, research Liquore Stregga and upon you last evening in this wonderful, if rainy place, try some after a delicious dinner.

There's an old hikers adage: There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear.

Ignore the weather and enjoy!

My friends in Seattle like to point out that, if they waited for the rain to stop, they'd never leave the house.

It's not clear whether you've been to Bellagio yet, but if not definitely go. Stroll around, have a nice lunch, do a little shopping...

Thank you all for your help - it is greatly appreciated! Last night's dinner was warm, wonderful and cozy. Today we are off to Bellagio armed with raincoats and ponchos! It is true that a rainy day on vacation is better than a dry day at work

Perfect!! Some of most enjoyable meals I have had in Italy were during rainstorms Bethie. I hope you are enjoying your last day in Bellagio! I also hope you get a break with the rain. And do give us a trip report when you get back home and settled in.
