Quirky Paris
This is not my own thread, but I would like to invite you to discover a different view of Paris, as seen by Ilbonito of Melbourne last winter. As long as I have lived in Paris, I must admit that some of the things he saw in the city surprised and delighted me: http://tinyurl.com/35nfuyl

Any Port in a Storm is just an offshoot of an offshoot of an offshoot of Lonely Planet dissidents (when BBC World took control of the LP forum and made all the wrong changes -- most of which have been cancelled now, but it's too late to bring people back).
The main advantage of such a site is that you can post pictures at the same time that you write your report (it would be so great if Fodor's would allow that). In any case, it's not a commercial site -- nobody except the whole 'Proboards' behemoth is making any money from it. Everything is free and available to anybody.
As you may have noticed, that does not prevent me from posting on 5 or 6 other travel sites regularly.
