Venice Airport

Going on cruise out of Venice, Italy in Spetember and then flying to Munich. My question is "What is the best way to get from the pier to the Airport and our flight leaves at 12:55PM so how long will it take." I'm figuring we will be off the ship by 10AM.

Take the vaporetto to Piazzale Roma (from either S. Marta or S. Basilio, whichever is nearer to where your ship lands - ask when leaving the ship). Take the bus to the airport from there. Plenty of time, no need to hurry or to worry.

I can't remember-does it take about 30-40 minutes to taxi from Piazzale Roma? I'm not familiar with the location of the cruise ships-about 15-minute Vap ride to Piazzale Roma?

I'd say ample time but don't dawdle. Agree with franco, check with ship folks.

Why taxi? There are TWO companies regularly running busses from Piazzale Roma to the airport, ATVO and ACTV. Check their websites for schedules!

If you have the 24 hour/plus multi-use vaporetti tickets which are generally ACTV, they have a bus #5 at P. Roma that is included in the vapporetti tickets price. It goes to the airport and took about 45minutes on the bus. Very easy and convenient, and basically free/included. We aren't "bus" people, but it was more like a shuttle.

I think the best way is water taxi. It's also the most expensive way at around 100 euros for up to 4 people with luggage, but it's a fun experience and fast/convenient. So you just have to judge whether the extra cost is worth the fun and convenience.

When we got off a cruise we shared a taxi with 2 other couples.... so the cost was reasonable. Perhaps you could do the same. The trip is a real delight. (If the weather's good -
