Question on Terminal 2E of CDG airport

There are 3 concourses (K, L, M) within Terminal 2E of CDG airport, but they don't look like they are connected by walking. I looked up on the CDG website. Looks the concourses are connected by light rail. However, it looks like one need to go through securities.
Anyone knows if I'm in concourse L, where my plan will be departing from, but would like to go to the duty free shop in concourse K, will I be able to get to concourse K and return without any problem? Or once I'm in concourse L, they would not let me go to other concourse because that's not where my plan will be boarded?
The reason why I'm asking is because my friend asked me to get something from the duty free in concourse K, they don't have the same store in concourse L or M.
Also, does it take a lot of time to go through the security in between the concourses?
TIA

There is a security check per concourse and they check your boeading pass before you can go through. This means that leaving from one concourse you cannot get access to the duty free shops of the others.

It took us over an hour to get from one concourse to the other last year. The lines for immigration were extremely long and backed up right into the departures lounge, people were panicking that they were going to miss their flight. It might not be like that when you travel, but if I ever have the misfortune of going thru 2E again, I'll add additional hour(s) to my arrival time at the airport.

We even got the open end question line yesterday at AA. If you are going to the USA you wait in this line after getting your boarding pass to chit chat with the gate agent. Thank you trump. Waste of 15 minutes and we were early so can only imagine as it gets later. We got a nifty little stamp on the back of our passport and then called to the boarding gate and checked to make sure we had a sticker. Tell your friend no way.

I wouldn't buy "stuff" for a friend, they can shop for themselves, there is absolutely nothing sold in duty free at CDG that is so precious or rare that you can't buy it elsewhere, or that is even special.

Just because something is sold in an airport duty free shop does not make it cheap. You can probably buy it just as cheap or cheaper in Paris proper.

For a number of reasons, picking up duty-free items for someone else (or even yourself) is a pain, and as noted is rarely cost-effective.

Hi NH,

I agree with the others, let your friend buy his toy on his own.

Enjoy your visit.

Yes, the days of picking up stuff for other people have ended. And frankly, it is a relief.

Thank you so much for the advice. I don't like shopping for people...but always have hard time saying no when someone ask.
It definitely sound like a waste of time. If my departure gate is different than the one she ask for, i won't risk missing my flight. Thanks again.
