Question about personal AIR PURFIERS for plane rides!

Hi Gang,

I currently use my Sharper Image personal air purifier when flying. I do notice a slight improvement with air quality when I use it, but was wondering if there are better products out there that you have used successfully.

Thanks for your input,
Betty

Flight attendant daughter uses the saline nasal wash to great effectiveness. Recommended by her doctor.

Gretchen,

Yes, I have used a nasal spray made from grapefruit seed extract that my doctor recommended for air travel. It's available at most health food stores.

Would love to hear more about small, personal air purifiers if there's anyone out there using them...

I would be very interested in just how you are defining the term "slight improvement with air quality"....does this mean the air smells better??? does it mean there are fewer dust or other particles (and if it does how do you know this??) in the air??? does this mean you have gotten fewer upper respiratory infections which are spread, as we know, by hand-to-hand transmission with viruses most of the time...

If this thing really works it might be helpful...but what is it really supposed to be doing other than making you feel (mentally) better?

Intrepid 1: While I do not profess to know the specific logistics of HOW air purifiers function overall--especially since there are a wide variety of air purifiers; some do claim to clean the air while others claim to send ions out in to the air--I do notice an improvement in air quality on planes when I have had my Sharper Image air purifier.
If I had to definte it, I would say yes, the air does indeed feel cleaner to breathe in (less dust particles, for instance). For me, there is a noticeable

(Sorry, my hand accidentally hit the return key.)

continued from top post: "a noticeable improvement in air quality."

Having said that, I'm sure there are products much better than the one by Sharper Image, so if anyone knows of these, please let me know.

Thanks.
