Wondering if you have to buy meals on those flights as well as on domestic flights.

We flew PIT-PHL-CDG R/T in May, and we did not have to buy the meals, which were "adequate". We did have to buy the $5 earphones if we wanted to listen to the audio selections on the inflight entertainiment.

$5 earphones? Yikes! After the price of our tickets, this seems sort of over the top.

For the benefit of anyone planning to travel USAir internationally who doesn't want to pay for the earphones, can you remember whether they took the 1-prong or 2-prong jack? I prefer to bring my own headphones, but just have to remember to bring the converter if it takes a 2-prong jack.

We flew US Air SEA-VCE in May and the jacks were two prong. The tix said no meals but we were served dinner. I cannot say that US Air was an enjoyable experience...

I flew USAIR rt CLT to London in April. The jacks were two prong. The food was ordinary, but the plane was comfortable and the FA's attentive. I had no complaints.

We flew USAir Phil-LGW and returned Glasgow-Phil in May and the meals, as already mentioned, were quite adequate. Not great, but not too bad, especially if you like microwaved pasta or chicken! I went ahead and bought the $5 headphones, but on the way home my friend used the single-prong earphones they had given us on the hop on/hop off London bus tour and they worked fine.
