Pronunciation of San Gimignano

My husband and I visited San Gimignano this summer and loved this quaint town. I am wondering how to pronounce it. I remember hearing people within the town pronouncing it, but now that I am back in USA I have forgotten the true pronunciation. Can someone help me? Thank you.

Oh please! You people make posting here like an exercise in psycotherapy. I stand by my original posting, and I don't even know who kam is, nor do I care, unless kam had it wrong.

It's sahn-gee-mee-nyan-oh, with the "g" sound being like the "j" in American English.

Enough, already. This was a simple question - it did not require a diatribe on what "some Americans would consider close enough" or whatever. There's a simple, correct answer; it's been given; end of topic.
