Problem with Trenitalia
I was checking some routes for a September trip. I know it's too early to book but wanted to see lengths and prices for them. When I put in a date for next week, I keep getting an error message, NaN-NaN-NaN. Is it possible that there are specific days of the week that don't have at least one train on these routes? Seems unlikely. I will be leaving Milan on a Sunday. Any suggestions? I would note that I have booked trips on Trenitalia in the past with no problem.

Sorry, thought I included that. I have also been having trouble posting this question! Milan-Ferrara, Milan-Ravenna and then either of those to Rome (haven't decided yet between Ferrara and Ravenna) . I will be leaving Milan on a Sunday. I have entered both English and Italian names.

It's working for me.
Are you sure you put in next week? Nanana I think usually means you put an invalid date in.
Try clearing your browser cache or even restarting your browser. Like I said it's working for me

One possibile problem I have encountered when using an Android device: you have to select the station name from Trenitalia's pull-down menu. For example, when I start entering "Milano", my Android device will allow me to autocomplete the name as soon as I type a few letters. Trenitalia won't accept the station name entered in that way. After I type another letter or so, Milano will pop up on the Trenitalia pull-down menu, and you must select the station name there.

Site works fine for me. Plenty of trains Sunday from Milan to Ferrara, for example. It even works if you put in a date for next September, although I'm sure that isn't a complete schedule as it only lists 1-2.
I don't know how you can put in a "wrong date", as you pick from a calendar.
I'm using it on a computer, not a phone.

www.bahn.de/en
Very easy site for schedules of all European trains - including Italy of course. can't book only trains involving Germany but again so so easy to use and it can also tells lots about your train - whether reservations are required; services on board; whether train has 1st class or not, etc
BETS-European Rail Experts has on its home page lots two long columns explaining what a wealth of info the German online site can provide.

For travel within Italy, I don't find Bahn.de any easier to use than Trenitalia.it . I use Bahn.de only when I'm researching schedules involving multiple countries. Otherwise I use the national site for the country in which I'll be traveling.
