Prague trip length
How long do you think is necessary in Prague to see most of the main sights; it's not necessary that I visit all of the museums. I was thinking almost 3 full days with a 1/2 day trip. Are four days necessary?

You can see a lot in Prague in 3 full days because the city is relatively small and easy to get around. Most of the major sights are fairly close together and near public transport.
I don't think 4 days are "necessary" but if you could get an extra day it certainly wouldn't be a wasted day. What would you do with this fourth day if it's not spent in Prague?
I'm not sure what you mean in the "with a 1/2 day trip" bit?

Hi Joe,
>I was thinking almost 3 full days with a 1/2 day trip. Are four days necessary?
I think that you will want 4 days if you are planning a daytrip as well.
We found 3 full days to be nice, but not quite enough.

Thank you for your replies thusfar.
For clarification, I'd probably take a side trip to Melnik winery, which I'm guessing would take a few hours, leaving me a bit of time that day to do other sights in Prague. If I went for four days, I'd do another side trip to Karlstejn Castle, which, again, I'm guessing would not take the whole day.

I agree with ira, last year we had 4 full days including one day trip (that took 3/4 of the day) and it wasn't enough time in Prague the first time around.
I'm going back in April and planning on four days.
