Prague or Vienna from Munich Airport?
Is it easier to get a direct train from Munich Airport to Prague or to Vienna?
When I try finding out on Google Maps they always want a time and date, and it seems to vary widely.
I'm wondering if anyone has done this?

If you look at bahn.de it will provide all of the information you need.
I don;t see any trains from the Munich airport to either city.
To Prague you will need to make 2 changes (mostly) and a good part of the trip is by bus. Takes about 6 hours.
To Vienna is about an hour aster but almost also 2 changes of train.
In all cases I believe you have to change trains in Munich - from the train from the airport to the regular train system.
(I know that soe airports - Zurich for one - have a train in the basement linked to the regular train system - but usually that isn;t the case in my experience and most airport train take you to city center for a change to longer distance destinations.)

Go to www.bahn.de/en
Book from Munich Airport T to VIENNA.
Look for a journey option with 1 change, using a frequent S-bahn train from Munich airport to Munich Hauptbahnhof (= main station), then a smart comfortable Austrian Railjet train from Munich to Vienna, total journey time around 4h59.
If you pre-book you'll see fares from just €29, and you print your own ticket.
Simples!
Just remember the €29/€39/€49 advance-purchase rate is train-specific, limited refund, no changes, so allow plenty of time for your flight to arrive and be a little late.

As it has no relevance any more, I did not dig up the details, but one long-distance bus company also served Munich Airport on its way to Prague.
Aside from the plane, the direct express bus services are currently the easiest and fastest way to get from (mostly downtown) Munich to Prague.
