Positano to bari

We are thinking of traveling to Bari by train after spending 5 nights in positano in September 2024. Any suggestion would be helpful

Welcome to Fodors. We moved your thread from Tech Support to the Europe Forum and tagged it for Italy

I suggest you catch the 8:12 from Napoli to Bari as it is only sub 4 hours via Caserta. There are similar trains later in the day.

Out of interest why are you going to Bari? Are you planning to spend some time exploring Puglia after your time on the Amalfi coast?

Yes, we plan on spending 3 nights and exploring the surrounding area. We have been to Rome and northern Italy a number of times. Therefore, looking for someplace we haven’t been

Puglia is best explored by car. If you are not hiring a car and you need to get back to Rome for your flight, then you might want to re-consider as you can easily spend a week or more on the Amalfi coast. You could spend some time in Naples and / or visit Ischia for part of your stay. Another option could be to split your time between Positano and Umbria.

or you could take a train to a part of Puglia that is on the main line fast line from Napoli and holiday there. Bari is good, but there are lots of other nice places
