Positano Hotels - list narrowed down, Advice?
Now that I'm making my hotel booking in Positano for 19-Sept-25 Sep, I'm running into a problem. When I go directly to some hotel's websites, I put in a single traveller, looking for accomodation on the dates said above. Nothing is available. When I put down 2 travellers, there are many options. But most of the hotels are charging PER PERSON, PER NIGHT. Is this normal? I haven't had that problem anywhere else or on any other bookings I have made.
For example, Hotel Marincanto, I put down 1 traveller - zero rooms available. I put down 2 people, it says 207.50 Euro a night per person or 2400 Euro.
Is this normal - being penalized for being a single traveller?
The hotels I am looking at are the following:
Hotel Marincanto (but not if I have to pay 400 E a night for single traveller)
Hotel La Bougainville - also are charging pp/pn - but total is 175 E per night
Vittoria Hotel - 170 E a night for supperior sea view room
I've looked to see if anyone has stayed at these hotels, but haven't found much to speak of. Anybody stayed at any of these? Any other suggestions? I am looking to stay under 220 E a night and want a room with a sea-view.
Thanks again for the assistance!

Chazzarelli:
That Marincanto rate is for a suite. Send an email to: [email protected]
We made all arrangements/reserved by email and Monica Vespoli was more than helpful. She will also arrange for transportation to/from Naples or Salerno if needed.

Bob - I had been looking at all of your pics and trip reports. Great pics and great tips. I was thrilled to read about your trip to the lakes region, as I just made my reservations in Bellagio. Thanks for your input and info - I know everyone on here eats your stuff up and rightfully so!

Monica at the Marincanto responded to me - and they can offer me a room there now at a rate of 220 E - amazingly at the rate I was looking for! PERFECTO!!!
I am now finished with all of my bookings and now only have to really sit back and wait till Sept. I will post my entire itinerary a bit later - and will be doing my very first trip report.
