I'm surprising my husband for his 45th birthday with a trip to Positano. There's almost nothing available for the one week we can go. I have read great reviews on the Marincanto and would really love to go there. I called them and was told that the only room available is in the lowest building of the three (I understand there are three separate buildings, one on top of the other), below the solarium.

Has anyone stayed in this room? My priority is having a spectacular view and I'm worried that we'd be too low down and close to the beach for a fabulous view. On the other hand, I've never been to Positano so I really have no idea.

Any advice would be appreciated.

--We were in Positano(and al the AC), in 2009,a great experience we will renew in 2012.As our hotel was in Amalfi,obviously we weren't at the Marincanto,anyway as a little help,let me tell you:
-You cannot go wrong on the AC,or in Positano.
-The website of the hotel looks really good,views shown are gorgeous.
-Remember you can acces all the common areas,in case the views from your room are not that good,you can acces the terrace,pool etc.
-Review in Tripadvisor are consistently excellent.

I did finally book the room at the Marincanto after agonizing over the decision for days. I'm so glad that part is over with!
