Positano

I am going to Italy for my honeymoon in August and have a few questions. WE are staying at Il San Pietro and would love any feedback. Also, any romantic restaurant suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try to visit the mountain village of Montpertuso, (about 15 min. by car from Positano) and try either Il Ritrovo, which is a proponent of the Slow Food movement, or Donna Rosa, or both! If you go, try to get there in time for the sunset, so that you can enjoy the amazing views.

Congratulations and buon appetito!

In Montpertuso, we loved the Donna Rosa. Good food, family run and reasonable prices. The views on the drive up to Montpertuso are breathaking.

DEFINITELY go up to Montepertuso - absolutely incredible. We were in Positano 3 nights and spend 2 evenings there - one at Donna Rosa, the other at Il Ritrovo - both were awesome. (see write up / critique here: http://www.hightide.com/travel.html) We stayed at the Murat and loved it, unfortunately did not have the chance to dine there but have heard the food is great and the setting is fabulous.

We just left Positano two days ago. We did not stay at the Il San Pietro, although I heard it was very nice. The two mentioned restaurants were great.
I would recommend a boat ride down the Amalfi coast. We used Gianni and Salvatore. They stopped to let us swim. Lunch was included. Everyone is so friendly but the walk is a killer! The place is magical.
Have a wonderful honeymoon.

Just returned from a visit to Positano. Had dinner at San Pietro. It was very romantic and definintely the most sophisticated menu in Positano! As I'm sure you know, the hotel is about a 15 minute cab ride from the center of Positano. Getting a cab wasn't much of a problem. Enjoy!

... first of all congratulations!

..the best suggestion I can give you is that the food is lovely wherever in Positano, but The Donna Rosa is divine, to die for! We've been 4 nights there in a week!! you can say we really loved it!!.. don't miss it! it's worth a trip!!.. it is such a romantic place, the atmophere is fantastic and the food.. we had lot of things there... all of them cooked in a great way...but if you're going only once there try the Donna Rosa ravioli or the egg-plant ones, the Black & white pasta with seafood, the lamb chops and the fish they'll suggest you.. don't miss the panna cotta with blackberry sauce or the sponge cake with lemon.. you'll love it, and you'll love their family!.. you'll feel part of it!.. whatelse.. the Sirenuse had great food too.. Bon Appetitto!!!
