Yes we drink it cold (very cold)
The most famous beers are Sagres and Super Bock. They are sold everywhere, in bottles or draught. A draught beer is called an Imperial, so if you ask for uma imperial (one), or two (duas imperiais), everyone will understand you.
We call a draught beer imperial, because many years ago, the only draught beer that existed was the brand imperial. Then, the imperial (brand) disapeared for many years, but the "nick name" - imperial - remained.
The brand Imperial returned a couple of years ago, but the two giants (Sagres and Super Bock) control the market.
But, the biggest Portuguese brewer is Cintra, that is going to start to produce beer very soon in Portugal. That Portuguese brewer only has production in Brasil, and he has a big share of the market there.
Enjoy it.

It looked to me very odd when I was in Lisbon that on their restaurants' menus there was no beer selection included. When I asked for a beer, they just brought me something at their choice
Nevertheless, whatever they brought it was very good, the only complain I had was that I never knew what I was actually drinking

Beer: Super Bock.
Great beer-restaurants in Lisbon:try Lusitana for home made beer and steaks,Trindade for a XVIII century restaurant, and also Portugalia. They are «portuguese chains» but very, very good.
With money to spend go to Gambrinus restaurant (best beer in Lisbon), Papa Açorda ( try the azorean alacatra beef)and Tavares Rico ( very expensive, but good!.
Lisbon is the best city in the world!
