Thanks so much for your reply.Your right my son will feel right at home. The privacy issue..can you hang a towel or something? Can other people in the bed area see all? Again thanks for all the tips. If supper is 9-11ish and we want to eat 7-9ish do you think we will have trouble or avoid crowds?

Thank you everyone for all of these very helpful suggestions!! Now I just have to find an extra day in the itinerary!! People seem to have very strong opinions about Seville...positive and negative!! Now I am curious to see how I will find it!! I am thinking about possibly taking a day from Seville or a day from Madrid. I had planned 4 days/5 nights in each but I could give this extra day to Ubeda/Baeza and still have a full day and night in Rhonda. I will just have to decide and go with it soon!! Of course the good news is that my DD will be studying there the entire semester so she will be able to go back to many of the places we miss!

Is anyone familiar with a small hotel outside of Rhonda called Los Castanos? It gets excellent reviews on Trip Advisor but I am wondering if it is worth to make the drive back and forth into Rhonda...or just stay in the center of Rhonda

Grazeilla and Chele...I think my husband would enjoy the windmills ..just to see them. Ironically we just saw Don Quixote performed last year. Grazeilla also your tip on the walking tours for Ubeda and Baeza. I will want to do those.

ML Mom- sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Thanks for the hotel recommendation. Hotel Amadeus responded to my email indicating they had availability so I am waiting for another reply to see if that works out.

Moxie- thanks for the hotel info. The one I couldn't get was the Granada parador but I will try again closer to time.

Ginto- Thanks for the driving info..even if we can't spend the night sounds like we can at least detour into Ubeda/Baeza. We will drop the car as soon as possible upon arrival in Toledo.

Again thanks to all of you (and to those I did not mention by name)for your insight. Even though I am a bit last minute on this trip, it seems to be coming together. Most of the hotels I have contacted have availability. I suspect that everyone else is avoiding the heat and is at the beach or went North!!

About the privacy:

in our room (107) the beds were in a very spacious room. The bathroom (with a glass wall) which included the sink, toilet & shower were all immediately inside the room door and were not visible from the bedroom area that was beyond it. The wall that separates the bedroom and the bathroom is a solid wall where they had a closet built in.

we never had any trouble finding a place to eat or having to wait for too long. there are tons of places! and the people watching is fun while you wait for your food.

Have a wonderful trip!
