Please help with Paris hotel question and availability

Am trying to pin down a room for April 3 to 8 of next year and using sources such as Venere.com and Parishotels.com and actually communicating with some hotels directly via their web sites I keep coming up with "no availability". Does anyone know if this is because I am too far out with dates or is "April in Paris" truly a hard time to book a room.

I've tried Hotel Moliere, the Louvre, Relaise St Honore, Louvre Montana and now think maybe I should check with this board to see if anyone can help with an explanation or an alternative suggestion. Any help is much appreciated.

You're probably too far out... might need to wait until late fall; hotels might not book until they're ready to publish 2008 rates.

Travelnut: I was hoping that this would be the case. Thanks so much for your response. I guess I'll have to put my compulsion to do things way ahead on hold.

Does anyone else think the same may be true?

Yeah, I think you're a little too early. Some hotel websites don't allow booking beyond 60-90 days out.

In the meantime, read, read, read about the places you'll be seeing! You can never do too much reading.

I wouldn't try to book a hotel in Paris this far ahead of time.

I think if you e-mail the hotels directly, you may have better luck. We frequently book this far out but directly with the hotel.

Thanks to all of you. I am relieved. Some hotels are difficult to access directly but I will keep trying. Meantime, read I will!
