For 2nd half of december for about 2 weeks...

Option 1: Rome/Pompeii/Amalfi/Sicily

Option 2: Seville/Andalusia/Rome/Pompeii/Amalfi

Option 3: Seville/Andalusia/Sicily

We will have our 3 year old with us... Also, don't want to go to a place that is too cold (snow etc.)... so please suggest one option...

As a parent who has travelled with little ones, I automatically veto options 2 - way too ambitious.

I would think what you would do solo and double the time in each place and cut the destinations in half. I would do half of either option 1 or 3...

I think they all are ambitious for 2 weeks.
Rome/Pompeii/Amalfi would be fantastic. Or, Rome for a week with Pompeii as a day trip, then a week in Sicily.
Or, Sicily by itself for 2 weeks.
Or, Seville, Granada, Cordoba and other small towns of Andalucia.
I've been to all these places and you can't really go wrong with any of them. They are all fantastic and worth the trip.

With a 3 year old with you, I suggest you consider renting an apartment for a week and using it as a base for exploration of one of your regions.

Too much travel for a 3 year old. Either do Andalusia - with a week each in 2 cities or Sicily.

By the way - although these are warmer parts of europe - it's still not beach weather - although if you stay away from the mountains the weather can still be pleasant enough to be outdoors a lot (50's).

In any case I would focus on apartment rentals so you have more room and a kitchen to deal with at least breakfast and snacks - even if you want to eat other meals out.

Thanks for your responses... Last year we traveled to europe with our kid when he was little over 1.5 years old...and we were fine... so we are kind of seasoned in traveling with the kid... just wanted to let you know that we intend to rent a car for our trip (probably not in Rome though)...

So, you guys still think it is too far fetched? Also, we are OK, as long as there is no snow...so which region will have the best weather in the 2nd half of december? Would Andalusia be quite rainy as well?

Once I hone in on an option, I will try to plan out days and post for your responses...

If weather is a make/break for a destination, then I would spend a little time with the weather websites that have all the detailed information available for your specific destination. For example, my knowledge of Sicily at this time of year tells me that one coast versus the other is a different story in terms of rainfall at Christmas time!

Good luck-we loved travelling with our little one in Europe at that age (as long as we had longterm accomodation and a car which you already know).

Weather is not the only thing to make or break the trip...it has to be reasonable as well...i can add a couple of days to the trip if that is what requires it to be sucessful... i just want an opinion on which option sounds better in terms of logisitcs/weather/feasibility etc... Thanks for your help!
