Planning our Honeymoon

I am planning our honeymoon for August 2003. I would like some suggestions as neither of us have ever been to these places. We would like to explore Ireland, Scotland and England. We will have a little more than 1 week.. probably 10 days. Please make some romantic and fun suggestions. Thanks...

First suggestion: Choose ONLY one country. That is unless you plan on chartering the Concorde to whisk you from place to place. Once you decide on which country ask for more advice.

My vote is for Ireland. Spend a day or two in Dublin, then move on to the rest of this delightful place. We did it in a countercloskwise direction from Dublin and loved it. For a really wonderful memory, reserve a night or two at Ballymaloe House.

I have only been to Scotland and to England but I think either of these would be a wonderful choice but I, like the other posters, have the opinion that you should choose one country and stick with it.

No matter what you do Castles are always romantic and anything to do with Victoria and Albert should stir the heart strings.

I stayed in an old hunting villa of Henry the Eighth in a small town of Weston on the Green. It is outside of Oxford. It was secluded and very romantic. There is even a room with a ghost if you need any reason to cling onto your sweetie. (hopefully on your honeymoon you will not).

Just one recommendation.

You really have to pick one - and then realize you will only see a VERY small part of that one.

You can get all kinds of good suggestions onece you decide where you are going.

Remember your total time is shorter since the first night is spent flying over the Atlantic, the 2nd is pretty much lost to jet lag and the last day is spent packing, getting to the airport and hanging around the departure lounge.

So even 10 days is really only about 7 actual touring/sightseeing days.

You can have a wonderful honeymoon in Scotland, England or Ireland - but you need to pick one.

Do 10 days in Ireland only--that will get you a good flavor.
